Bill was a much-loved member of Grace Bible Church in Canyon Lake. He was a wonderful Christian man and had a great love for Christ.
He retired from law enforcement with the city of Hurst, where he was employed for almost 30 years. After his retirement with Hurst, he and his wife, Kathy, moved to the dream home they had built in the Hill Country. He then worked for Comal County as a jail administrator for 11 years. Bill was an Army veteran and served his country proudly.
Bill was born in Midland on June 28, 1937. He lived in Amarillo for a short while and was on the police force there. He was raising three wonderful sons when he met Kathy. They married, blending their families, and he gained another son and a daughter. He loved all his children dearly, as well as his grandchildren, but above all else he loved his wife.
Survivors: His wife of 36 years, Katherine; his children and their spouses, Monte and Lynn Collins, Denis and Helena Collins, Robert and Alicia Collins, Jerry Marion, and Cynthia and Brian Haskett; eight grandchildren; and brother, Robert Collins.
