Wynne Monroe, 93, formerly of Euless, TX, passed away quietly in her sleep at home on May 14 in Trinity, Florida.
Wynne was born on July 22, 1924 in her parent’s farm house southwest of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Iles A Keever and Della Fae Karns Keever. As a child she began helping her parents around the house as soon as she could get a stool tall enough to do dishes in a pan on the kitchen table. While life started out in the rolling plains on Depression era Oklahoma farm, that all changed when her sweetheart Vernon came back from the Navy and they married in Cement, OK. Being an only child, Wynne was always devoted to her husband and her extended family of Vernon’s six brothers and sisters who always treated her like a sister.
With their young children the couple moved to Memphis, TN for Vernon’s work with Chrysler Corp. Then when their two children were teenagers Chrysler relocation brought them to Dallas/Euless, Texas where they happily remained for the next 50 years. Their last move was to Florida with son, Dennis, which was a brave new start to be close to their daughter, Alice, and her husband, Dan, with three grandkids close by too; Crystal, David, and Andrea. In the last 4 years her family really enjoyed having the time to know Wynne. She loved regularly seeing all of her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids being a part of all the family gatherings at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Wynne was a very loving mother, excellent cook, great seamstress and gardener, Brownie leader, Sunday School teacher, friend to all she met, and a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of Euless, TX. She was so loved and cherished and passed with her family close-by.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon O Monroe, April 29, 2015, and her daughter Delores Ann Monroe, September 3, 1948.
Wynne is survived by son Dennis Monroe of Trinity, FL and daughter Alice Faye Monroe Kosmalski and husband Dan Kosmalski of New Port Richey, FL.
Her loving Grandkids include: Meredith Monroe of Dallas, TX; Crystal and Dave Poll; David Kosmalski and fiancé Andrea Ortega; Andrea Kosmalski and Laura LaLande; all living in Land O Lakes, FL.
Plus Great Grandkids: Wesley Poll, Dylan Poll, and 2 more due in 2018.
