

Albert Morris Weisberger, 92, of Hot Springs, AR, passed May 12, 2011 at Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville. He was born July 14, 1918 in Marvell, Arkansas to Samuel and Katie Weisberger. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a Tank Unit Commander in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, where he received a Purple Heart. He retired after 31 years as a superintendent at the US Postal Service in Memphis. He is survived by three children, Kathryn Johnson of Miramar Beach, FL, Al (Janie) Weisberger of Fisherville, TN and Elaine Weisberger of Nashville, TN. He also leaves behind one brother, Joe (Nina) Weisberger of Marvell, Arkansas and his three grandchildren, Jeff (Sharlie) Weisberger, Kate Schamroth and Allison (Stacey) Blakney; along with five great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jackson, Shelby, Georgia and Fera. He was a kind, gentle, caring man who enjoyed time with his family along with fishing, golf and dancing. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie (March 2011), a son, Stephen, and two brothers, Weimer and Leo Turner. The family would like to thank the caring nurses and staff of Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, TN. The family requests any donations be made to the Baptist Trinity Hospice House or The Purple Heart Foundation. A memorial for Albert and Jackie is planned for a later date.
