She was born on December 15, 1947, in Asheville, North Carolina, where she graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School and St. Genevieve of the Pines School. Anna lived a life rooted in deep faith, unwavering love for her family, and quiet strength that inspired everyone around her.
For 57 years, Anna was the devoted wife of Calvin Hudson, the love of her life. Together they built a beautiful family while following Calvin’s career across seven states, eleven cities, and even one foreign country. Through every move, Anna created a warm and welcoming home. No one ever left Anna's table hungry or her doorway unloved; her gift was loving everyone as her own, and she will be missed by the countless lives she embraced as family.
Known simply as “Nana” to her seven adored grandchildren, she delighted in their visits, spoiled them with treats, and taught them the importance of faith and kindness by the way she lived every day. She loved playing games and watching movies with them; she never missed an activity that her grandchildren participated in.
Over the years, she enjoyed golfing, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and ceramics. She and Calvin enjoyed traveling and took several trips to Europe, Hawaii, and Australia, as well as yearly family beach trips.
Anna was a member of Germantown Baptist Church, active in Sunday school and bible study. She was a woman of strong faith through the long and difficult journey with ALS. Because the joy of the Lord was her strength, she was able to face each day without complaining and with a smile on her face.
Anna is survived by her husband, Calvin Hudson; her children, Angie McGuffee (Jere), Cindy Beaudry (Frank), and Chip Hudson (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Mac and Morgan McGuffee, Hudson (Lauren), Anna Kate, and Walker Beaudry, and Colin and Seth Hudson. She is also survived by her brother, David Tilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lillian Tilson.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Annie Webster and La’Sheila Gilliand for their loving care and attentiveness.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:15 pm, at Germantown Baptist Church, located at 9450 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN 38139. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials donations to Mosaic Memphis Ministries, mosaicmemphis.org
