On April 17th, 2024, Austin Lishman Smith, 31, departed this life to join his heavenly father. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Casey Brooke Smith and their sweet baby girl, Nola Brooke Smith, both of Hernando, Mississippi.
He is survived by Scott and Angela Smith [father and stepmother] of Germantown, TN, Tonya and David Holcomb (mother and stepfather) of Cordova, TN, Morgan Rivers Smith (sister) of Southaven, MS, Peyton Smith (brother) of Germantown, TN and Elaine Lishman (maternal grandmother) of Avalon, MS. He is proceeded in death by Jerry and Beverly Smith (paternal grandparents) of Greenwood, MS, and Bud Lishman (maternal grandfather) of Avalon, MS.
Austin attended Mississippi State University, and he will forever be a Mississippi State Bulldog at heart. He was also an avid hunter, so between these two activities and spending time with Casey and Nola, he was a very busy guy who loved life. He was employed by Herc Rentals here in Memphis, TN and loved his job and workplace friends. Austin was always a delight to be around as he was known to be the “life of the party” throughout his lifetime.
He will be missed dearly by his entire family and friends, and our comfort lies in knowing he is watching over us from above helping prepare a special place for us all someday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
