Betty “Joan” Ford, 88 passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020. She was born on March 25, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas. She was the daughter of Amos and Rillie Ford. Joan relocated to Arkansas at the age of 9 months and lived there until moving to Memphis in 1969. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hugh Ford and her daughter Karen Ford Mitchell. Joan is survived by her sons Michael Ford, William Ford (Fairy), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and a very special daughter in law, Therese Jaworski. Pallbearers will be Jared Cupples, Nick Rivera, Mitchell Gore, Steve Stapleton, Steve Puckett, Keith Riggins. Joan was a very warm-hearted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her volunteer service to St Francis Hospital as a Pink Lady for over 25 years. Visitation will be held Friday, February 21, 2020, from 11am-1pm and funeral service at 1:00pm at Collierville Funeral 534 W. Poplar Ave, Collierville, TN, with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 7500 Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN, 38125. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Crossroads Hospice and to our nurse, Dana, and caregiver, Lisa. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
