Dann Kirkconnell Pottinger

Dann Kirkconnell Pottinger “Danny” of Orlando, FL passed away August 26, 2023, at the age of 76. Dann was born in the British Bay Islands of Honduras and raised in Orlando. He graduated from Edgewater High School and then served in the United States Army, HQ Material Command Europe, Zweibrucken, Germany.

He married Mary Carter in 1974, his sweetheart of nearly 50 years. He worked in the banking and real estate industry his entire career. His greatest pleasure was spending time with family and dear friends. He loved traveling and especially enjoyed New Smyrna Beach. He was Founder and President of Firstate Financial, President and Director of Commercial State Banks, Owner of Village Realty. He served as President of Orlando Rotary Club and The Orlando Historical Society and spent many years serving on different boards in Orlando. He loved the history and people of “Old Orlando.” Danny never met a stranger and could always make you laugh and feel loved. His love for the Lord, his wife and their family, and his many friends was a testament to his life.

Dann is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lewis Talbott Pottinger & Alyce Kirkconnell Pottinger his sister, Patricia Pottinger Stewart “Patsy,” brother Kirby Kirkconnell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Carter Pottinger and their three daughters; Kathryn Pottinger Fallon, Virginia Pottinger Trabold (Fred) & Kristin Pottinger Dill (Drew), grandchildren; Emma Grace Trabold, Frederick William Trabold, IV, Henry Pottinger Trabold, Drew Sterling Dill, Jr., Talbott Kirkconnell Dill, Draper Fielding Dill, Brooke Elizabeth Fallon & Michael Jack Fallon & sister Yvette Kirkconnell Hyde.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11AM, at Cathedral Church of St. Luke, 130 N Magnolia Ave., Orlando.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4PM-8PM, at The Tap Room at Dubsdread, 549 W Par St., Orlando.
