David graduated in 1980 from Madison Consolidated High School in Madison, Indiana. Shortly thereafter, he began a long, dedicated career with AutoZone, where he worked for over 36 years.
He loved the Lord and was an active member at Grace Valley Church in Collierville. His friends and acquaintances were innumerable, each one touched by his warmth, generosity, and, of course, his mischievous sense of humor and legendary pranks. He had numerous interests and hobbies throughout his life, including woodworking, scuba diving, beekeeping, ham radio, goat farming, and, most of all, teasing his little sister, who gratefully passed that torch to her best friend and sister-in-law, Kim.
David was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brandon Scott Perry, and his father, Darlie Earl Perry. He is survived by his wife, Kim Perry; sons Nickolas Perry and Brandon Nachtman (Megan); daughters Briana LaForte (Scott), Reyna Lee (Jiahm), and Paige Mori (Kohta); grandchildren Eli, Brooklyn, Jude, Kyndall, Myla, Ezekiel, Luna, Cannon, Navy, Sophie, Austin, Stephen, and Brooklyn; his mother, Helena Perry; his sister, Lisa Day (Eric Sr.); and nephews Eric Jr., Elliott, and Ethan.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Grace Valley Church, 10576 Collierville Road, Collierville, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
