Today would've been our 29th anniversary and I miss you.  Our time together on this earth passed much too quickly.

I loved being married to you.  The love we shared, our faith in each other and the comfort and closeness of our relationship all remind me of how blessed I am to have shared my life with you. You were my best friend and my "Once in a Lifetime Love."

Mere words will never be adequate enough to describe Aunt Debbie, nor will they take away the pain and loss you are feeling. I will never really know what you are experiencing until I go through it myself, but I want to share with you words that I hope will bring you some comfort. 

How blessed we all were to know a true example of the woman described to us in Proverbs 31... and how blessed you all were to call her your wife and mother. I imagine the welcome she received from her Lord as she made her way home to Heaven; a welcome with loving arms and the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant." She was the most pure example of faith, love, and strength.

Nita and I are saddened at the loss of Debbie.  She was such a special person to us.  Debbie really set an example for the rest of us to live by.  It always seemed like she was encouraging us when we really wanted to do that for her.  She inspired us the way she held firmly to her faith in God's mercy and with the grace she accepted His direction for her life. It does give us comfort to know she is no longer suffering. Hold fast to that and all of the memories of Debbie. We do have assurance that you will be reunited with Debbie once again and we find tremendous joy in that promise. Bond and I are so thankful that we had the privilege of having Debbie in our lives and that your family allowed us to walk with you through the good and the difficult times. We have such fond memories of all the times we met at Wolf River on Mondays for catfish.  Bond is still a little hesitant to let someone "look at his dessert".

I was flipping through my Bible today and I stumbled upon Psalm 112:7. You had mentioned Debbie's steadfast faith. I read this verse that says, "He will have no fear of bad news, his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord." I have to tell you that I immediately thought of YOU. 

I want to thank you for living this verse out for me. You and Debbie have shown me what it REALLY means to trust the Lord at all times. You have shown the world this type of steadfast faith, constant trust. 

I know I've said it a lot, but my words always seem to come up short, You and Debbie have and will continue to change my life! Your marriage, your kindness, your love and faith and hope, your friendship. All because we serve a sovereign God and he knew I would be richly blessed and challenged to be more like Him with you in my life. I will be forever grateful that He allowed our paths to cross and we will be forever praising Him together-for eternity. Hallelujah! 

Debbie's sweet and gentle spirit was evidence of the Holy Spirit shining through her. After spending time with her, I always left with the feeling of having been in the Lord's presence. I can see her smiling face with that cute little hat you gave her and hear her whisper "God is in control...His will be done." She was a blessing to all and I have no doubt that the legacy she leaves here will continue to draw many to Him!

What a blessing and honor it was to know Debbie.  I have never met a stronger person.  She was such a fighter, always staying optimistic.  

Joe, you have been such an example to your boys and everyone who knows you.  Bro. Chuck's sermon, "God's Design for the Husband" described you and your devoted love to Debbie.  You were blessed to have Debbie as your wife, but what a lucky woman she was to have a husband that loved her unconditionally & sacrificially.

Matt & Jeremy, what an honor to have godly parents that raised you in a Christian home!  Your mother loved you in a way that you will not understand until you have children of your own.  Remember the things she taught you as a child and honor her and your dad in your daily lives.  Remember to introduce your children to your mom; talk about her often and keep her picture in your home.  Make sure they know how much she looked forward to having grandchildren and how much she would have loved them.  I'm certain she is in heaven rocking a baby right now.

We were blessed to live across the street from you all on Rose Trellis for 7 years.   As a young mom, Miss Debbie was such an example to me.  She exemplified Titus 2:4 to me and showed me by example how to love my husband and children well. She adored you guys! I cherish the memories of leaving the girls there to play with Matthew and Jeremy while I was at work and knowing that they would be loved on and well cared for while I was away. Miss Debbie is the only person I ever allowed to keep Meagan and Ashley besides their grandmother. You guys were the one thing we missed when we moved.

As the years flew by, the kids all grew up and us adults grew a little older.  Many unexpected changes came your way but some things remained the same.  Through all the ups and downs, I saw that steadfast love Miss Debbie had for her family and her God remain steady and unwavering.  Yes, Miss Debbie was one of a kind. Words cannot express the special place she holds in my heart or the impact she had on my family. We will miss her sweet smile, continue to pray for you all always, and look forward to the day when we will all be reunited with her in the presence of our precious Lord.

The Lord assures us that He has great plans for us...plans to prosper us and allow us to know true peace. As a part of His great plan, He puts people in our lives that challenge, bless, provide wisdom, give examples to follow, love, befriend, and teach. Mrs. Debbie was all that and more to me and my family. 

I was honored to know Mrs. Debbie as my precious neighbor, both at Tara Oaks and at home. In the years that I knew her, I learned how one should respond when trials come. She exemplified Hebrews 11:2- in the midst of the trials, she was joyful. She was joyful in the love that she had for her husband and her boys. She was joyful while teaching her students. She was joyful in her love for the Lord and her commitment to serve Him. She was joyful as a friend and confidant.

Some of my favorite memories of Mrs. Debbie are sitting with her on the couch while we watched my little boy, Russ, play ball in the living room. He loved giving his Didi kisses. I loved the days we were able to sit in the driveway laughing and sharing stories. There were days when we just embraced one another and shared sorrow. "Didi" and "Papa Joe" and their boys are family to Matt, Russ, and me. As family we shared in the good times, as well as the times of hurt and sorrow.

I am so thankful for the time the Lord gave me to spend with Mrs. Debbie. I cherish her friendship and love, and I look forward to the day when we can embrace again in Heaven. Until then I will continue to run the race the Lord has set before me, and I pray that I can run mine as well as she ran her's. I love you, Mrs. Debbie.

Debbie was such a great friend to me - - just like she was to everyone who knew her.  We could always find something to talk about that ended up making us all laugh out loud!  Remember when Bond teased her about eating his dessert?  

Because she was small, we all felt like we needed to 'protect' her - - but from what?  She could take care of herself - - and instill that courage in the rest of us.  Just like you, we all miss her, too, but we'll see her again in heaven, that's for sure!

A little over eleven years ago, God placed a very special person in my life, Ms. Debbie.  I did not realize this until several years of working with her and saying time and time again to others that God placed this lady in my life.
My life has been blessed to have Debbie Roberts in it and I am grateful that God led Debbie to me.  I learned so much about what it means to be a Christian, to have real Faith, and to Honor, Glorify, and Give Thanks to God in all your circumstances.   Debbie did those things and more everyday.  I continue to feel her Sweet Spirit all around me, which gives me some comfort for I know she is OK ...More than OK for sure, however, I do miss my friend.  I could use her encouraging words about now or to see her sweet Smile would be so comforting.
Until I see Sweet Debbie again, I'll have to eat chicken salad sandwiches in her honor, might even try a German Dog, and yes I will be cheering for the Tide to Roll for every game.  Debbie's stories will continue to be remembered at Tara Oaks.  Her love for the Children she worked with was shown in the way she taught them and nurtured them and loved them (even on the days she did not feel her best).
  I will continue to share stories with Sophie and McClaine about their Aunt Debbie.

When I think about our sweet "Miss Debbie", so many things come to mind. Living next door to her for 10 years gave me the opportunity to learn many things from her examples. She was a Godly woman, a loving wife, a great mother, a sweet friend, an extraordinary teacher, a fun neighbor, and one of the strongest ladies I have ever known. Jay, Emma, Cole, and I have had many conversations with Mr. Joe and Miss Debbie standing in our driveways. Some were fun; just catching up with each other, laughing, and telling stories. While others were serious, crying, and supporting each other in times of need. They were all however, conversations that were spoken out of love and gratitude that the Lord gave us each other, not just as neighbors, or even friends, but as family. We count it a gift to be blessed with a neighbor like Miss Debbie. We will cherish every memory of her that we were allowed to share. We will miss her terribly, but will continue to live by the many examples that she gave us each day.

Writing to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I will continue to hold you close to my heart as you travel this journey of loss.

In thinking about Debbie's life my heart is drawn to two thoughts.  First, she lived a life worthy to the calling to which she was called, that of working with the most precious humans of all, children.  I am reminded of Jesus' words, "whatever you do unto the least of these you do also unto me".  I am sure that when she passed on to forever that He met her and said, "well done my good and faithful servant".

The other thing I am drawn to is her strong sense of faith.  She was a person who truly lived her life as a reflection of our Father in Heaven.  I am sure that many others were strengthened in faith because of that little light of hers.  She was true to the words of the song, "This little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let It Shine".

If only each of us could live a life worthy to the calling to which we have been called and be a reflection of His light.  Then, we would have live a wonderful life.  Please rest in the comfort of knowing that is exactly what she accomplished.

May our Father in Heaven be your comfort and guide on this day and in the days to come.

Mary has just informed me about your sweet wife getting to go home to our Savior. I am so sorry. I know this is the hardest thing you have ever had to go through. No words can ever heal your heart other than the sweet promises of the Father but I wanted to express my deepest emotions and empathy for you and your family. I remember the first time I ever met Debbie, more than a decade ago: I came into the preschool classroom at Tara Oaks and commented that I was having trouble getting a student in that class to do a certain task when he was with me.  I said that I had tried offering the child rewards as incentive but that didn't seem to be helping.  Debbie heard me and commented with a smile, "Sometimes it helps to make it clear that it's a requirement, not a request."  Then she proceeded to demonstrate what she meant, and, of course, the child did exactly what he was directed to do.  I have reflected on those words and on Debbie's strategy of using the perfect combination of calm strength and love countless times over the course of the years, both in regards to professional and personal situations.  I am truly indebted to her for her guidance and for the example by which she lead so many of us who were blessed to have known her, and I will never forget her.

Ms Debbie always had a smile on her face and kind words coming from her mouth.  She was truly an asset to our DEC preschool team.  I am a better person for having the opportunity to learn and grow from her.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I know that she was great and she passed away but don't be sad cause she is in a better place.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I never met Debbie, but through Cindi, I felt I knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

You will be deeply missed by your friends and family,our prayers are with all the family.  Rest in peace my dear friend.
We will see each other again. For now God picked another beautiful rose and placed it in his garden in heaven.

My thoughts and memories of Deb will be everlasting in my heart, especially our time when we lived in Memphis and Deb and I were both having our babies.  One day we will look back at all of those silly videos that were taken. I love you all dearly and keeping you close to my heart now and always.

Joe and family, I was very sad to hear of your loss. Debbie was soo precious to so many of us and had such a beautiful smile and sweet spirit. Praise God her pain has ended and she is where we all long for one day!! Praying for all of you she left behind who will miss her greatly in the days ahead. I love you all.

Mrs. Debbie worked with countless special needs children over the years.  She will remain in their hearts and in our hearts forever.

I learned so much from Debbie about faith. She was a wonderful example of a christian. I know god is with you during this difficult time.

Mary Alice and I are truly saddened to hear of Debbie's passing.  It seems like only yesterday we all ate ribs at The Rendezvous in Memphis.  She was a fine lady and we are glad we had the opportunity to spend time with you both. Never met your boys, but have to believe those leaves could not have fallen far from the grand tree made of Debbie and you.
