Dewey M Camburn

Dewey M. Camburn, passed away from this life to his heavenly home on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the age of 94. He was born in Ripley, MS to the late William Stanford Camburn and Lena Jamieson Camburn. He was the last living children of eight siblings. On May 23, 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Childers, while on break from his service in the Navy. They were married 72 years. As well as his Navy Service, he was very proud of his yearly garden. His kindness and love for his family will always be remembered. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children, Ron Camburn of Collierville, TN, Paula Hammond (Daniel) of Florence, AL, and Lisa Curry (John) of Germantown, TN. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Abbie Hammond (Daniel), Sarah Blaylock (Brandon), Ian Curry (Sandra), Abigail Curry, and Aaron Curry; and two great grandsons, Soren and Ranson Blaylock. Family will receive guests on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Collierville Funeral Home. A private graveside service will immediately follow.
