Don was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Mary Beth, Jeff, Charlene, Terry, Jim, Robin, and Ann. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Nancy Joyner Chute. He is also survived by his siblings Scot, Pat, Kristina, Rebecca, and Judy, as well as his four children Marc, Blair, Darren, and Marla, in addition to many grandchildren.
Don graduated from St. Aloysius High School in New Lexington, Ohio, in 1959. He began his career in the trucking industry, which eventually brought him to Memphis, Tennessee in 1975 with McLean Trucking Company. With gentle encouragement from Nancy, Don transitioned into a successful real estate career in 1979, helping countless families find homes in Tennessee and Mississippi.
A man of deep faith, Don was most recently a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville. He previously served faithfully as a deacon at Forrest Hill Baptist Church for many years. His commitment to service extended beyond the church walls—he was an active Gideon, passionately sharing his faith by distributing Bibles wherever he could. He even purchased a larger bag so he could carry and give away more.
Don found great joy in his hobbies and community involvement. He was a proud member of Memphis Street Rods, where he spent many happy hours attending car shows and working on his cherished 1931 Ford. He also loved serving others through volunteering at Calvary Rescue Mission, where he helped prepare and serve meals to those in need.
Don will be remembered for his servant’s heart, his steadfast faith, and his love for his family and community.
A service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial and a graveside service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center in Collierville.
