

A proud graduate of Tusculum College, Steve dedicated his life to service, leadership, and community. He retired from FedEx after 23 years of devoted service and also served as the Fire Chief of the Piperton Fire Department for 20 years, where he was deeply respected for his commitment, courage, and compassion. In addition, Steve volunteered his time as an ARES Coordinator with the Emergency Management Association, always ready to lend his expertise in times of need.
Steve was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who loved the open road, and a lifelong dog lover whose faithful companion, Dede, remained by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Kellett and Dorothy Belle Hudgins Kellett.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Virginia Wright Kellett; daughter, Kimberly Lloyd (Heidi); sons, Brian Lloyd (Amy) and Adam Lloyd (Becky); grandchildren, Jonathan Fleener, Kayla Fleener, Tess Lloyd, and Elin Lloyd; three great-grandchildren; siblings Mike Kellett (Sonja), Drew Kellett (Susan), Kelly Kellett, and Candace Kellett; and his beloved dog, Dede.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2025, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.
Steve’s life was one of dedication, integrity, and love—he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
