Dwan Ann Dwan was born in Frankfurt, Germany to Army Master Sergeant Charles R. and Mary E. Upton, and was the youngest of 4 daughters. Her family travelled to many places before finally arriving in Tucson, AZ, where she later met the love of her life, Ed. They married on March 14, 1977, and soon after began their life together where she became a loving mother and dedicated Army wife. She left behind many dear friends and her family whom she adored, but always made sure to stay in touch. Dwan was also fortunate to meet several more life-long friends while they were stationed in different places throughout their military career and afterwards. Although they had to move apart, she was always thankful to have these wonderful people in her life, and cherished each one of them. She was a very strong and loving person who never met a stranger, and she always had a kind word to say. Dwan was a devoted Catholic and lived her life as a good and charitable woman. Even though she had to go through more struggles than anyone should have to endure, she always stayed positive and kept a smile on her face. In the end, the only comfort we can have is that she was blessed to pass peacefully in her sleep, and that she will never have to suffer again. She will always be loved and forever missed, and she would be happy to know that her spirit will live on in all of our hearts.
Dwan is survived by her mother Mary, her loving husband, Col (Ret) Edward R. Dwan, her four children: Charles, Jansen, Eddie and Megan, and her four beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and her three sisters: Debbie, Paula, and Charlie.
In honor of her good and generous nature, our family asks that instead of flowers or gifts, please make a donation in her memory to a charity that you hold dear.
