Eric Martin Heckman

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eric M. Heckman, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on October 3, 2025, at the age of 63. Eric was born on March 18, 1962, in Evansville, Indiana, to George H. Heckman, Jr. and Ann Hunt Heckman. He was preceded in death by his loving parents.

Eric proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years. Following his military service he attended Centre College and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Economics. He continued his education with an MBA from Indiana University. His education led him to a successful career as a Senior Business Planning Advisor with FedEx.

On April 23, 1994, Eric married Elizabeth Bowling Heckman. Together, they built a beautiful family. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, their children, Jake and Sarah Heckman, as well as his siblings: sister Melody Linenburg and brothers Rodney and Kent Heckman.

In honor of Eric and his battle with early onset Alzheimer's the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Alzheimer's Association, an organization close to their hearts.

A Memorial Gathering will be held to celebrate Eric's life on October 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Eric.
