Mr. James "Billy" William Baird

James William Baird was born on January 13, 1961, born in Munford, TN, resided in Collierville TN, and passed away at Germantown Methodist Hospital on March 26, 2025. He was known to his friends as Billy, his kids as Dad, and his grandkids as Grumpy. He was a Systems Architect at FedEx for nearly 30 years, an avid University of Tennessee fan and alumni, and member of The Orchard Church. He enjoyed camping with his wife and family, collecting coins, and building model railroads. He was known as a Christian man that loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Grace Baird.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Baird, parents James and Sandy Baird, sister Sherry Bodron (husband Bob), brother Richard Baird (wife Liz), oldest son David Baird (wife Shannon) and grandchildren James, Ruth, and Emily, middle son Kerry Baird (wife Lauren) and grandson Kooper, youngest son Jonathan, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Rd. Collierville, TN 38017 on Friday April 4, 2025. Visitation will be held at Collierville Funeral Home from 12PM to 2PM preceding the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Methodist Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Billy’s name.
