

James Sidney Collier (Sid), age 79 of Collierville, TN, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Hilda Collier.
Born in Gilmer, Texas on December 14, 1934 to Ophie and Cora Belle Collier, Sid was the second of four sons. He graduated from Gilmer High School in 1953, attended Kilgore Junior College and received a degree in Physics and Mathematics from East Texas State University.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army, stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. He worked in the aircraft industry as a mechanical engineer most of his life and was self employed before retiring.
Sid was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class.
He is survived by one son, James Michael Collier (Lisa) of Collierville, TN, one daughter, Kerrie Webb (Jim) of Easley, SC. He was also blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Tiffany Webb, Kristen Webb, Zackary Collier, Tyler Collier, and Olivia Collier. In addition, three brothers Perry (Melba) of Negley, TX, O'Neal (DeLores) of Mobile, AL, and Johnny (Ruth Ann) of Gilmer, TX as well as many other dear relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 2pm, Sunday, April 6th at Collierville United Methodist Sanctuary on the Square with Funeral Services begining at 3 pm.
