James was born June 8, 1958 in East St Louis, IL one of five children born to Barbara Wood Konrad and the late Allyn Konrad, Sr.
He attended Holy Family Grade School in Cahokia, IL and then moved to Cincinnati where graduated from Northwest High School in 1976. Jim moved to Memphis in 1976 and attended the University of Memphis. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force for 1982 through 1992 mainly stationed in England, the Netherlands & Germany.
In 1992 Jim returned to Memphis and joined the family business, Traffic Consultants, Inc. until his death.
James was the family historian and photographer, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan & current season ticket holder and the same for the University of Memphis Football program. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces & nephews and loving son to his mom Barbara who will turn 90 this coming January.
Along with his mom Jim is survived by his siblings Allyn (Geri), Michael, Jeffrey (Jana) and Patricia Langley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
Family and friends will gather at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Avenue, this Saturday morning, October 30 from nine o'clock until funeral services begins at ten o'clock. Burial rites and military honors from the U.S. Air Force will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery on Holmes Road.
The family suggests contributions in Jim's honor be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
