John Barton "Bart" Calame

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 9th, at 2:00PM, at Collierville Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM until the service begins.

Bart was born in Memphis, TN to the late Janice and Paul Calame. He attended the University of Tennessee and the University of Memphis, and was a proud member of the US Coast Guard Reserve. He was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church, and he was retired from the Social Security Administration. He loved the outdoors, reading and had many hobbies. He was a kind and gentle person and will be greatly missed by many.

Bart is survived by his wife Charlotte Hatch Calame of 52 years. He leaves two sons, John Barton Calame, Jr. (Ella), Russell Farrell Calame (Rachel), and a daughter Catherine Calame Botto (Brian). He leaves six grandchildren, Matthew and Anna Cate Botto, Gregory Calame, and Sophie, Sydney, and Carter Calame. He also leaves a brother Paul Calame (Carol), a sister Mary Jane Chotard (Richard), a brother-in-law Stephen Hatch, four nephews, a niece, and many other family members and close friends.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to a charity of choice.
