

DR. KARL ANTHONY GIULIAN, SR., 75, of Germantown, TN, passed away December 31, 2012. He was born February 6, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Giulian practiced in Philadelphia for 34 years as an obstetrician/gynecologist, where he received numerous awards and recognition for his leadership contributions. He was a retired Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, where he spent much time serving the poor in Central America. While there, delivered many babies, many of whom were subsequently named after him to honor his kindness and devotion. He was a graduate of the United States Army War College of Carlisle, PA. He was a physician surveyor for the Joint Commission for 12 years after he retired from his medical practice. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Rosario Lindsey-Giulian; his son, Karl, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Stone Harbor, New Jersey; his daughter, Rita Gillis and her husband, David of Burlington, New Jersey; two stepsons, Renzo Rojas and his wife, Sherrie of Eads, TN, and Jonathan Lindsey of Jacksonville, FL, and six grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at Catholic Church of the Incarnation, 360 Bray Station Road, Collierville, TN at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 4. Burial will be Tuesday, January 8 at 1 p.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Memphis/Shelby County, 935 Farm Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
