

Leonard Phillip Andre, known to many as "Lenny" passed away peacefully at his home on January 24,2025, at the age of 75. Lenny was born on September 27,1949, at Johnson Air Force Base in Irumagawa, Japan to the late Colonel Daniel Andre and Edwina Prewitt Andre.
As the child of a serviceman, Lenny spent much of his early life moving across the United States. He graduated from Edwards Air Force High School in California in 1967. During his school years he was on the wrestling team, football team and developed an interest in music. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Florida, from 1967 to 1971.
During his time in the Air Force, Lenny me his wife, Nancy Faye Higginbotham, in the summer of 1969 at Georgia's Diner in Cocoa Beach. The two were married on April 9, 1971, in Nancy's hometown of Macon, Mississippi.; Lenny and Nancy relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended the University of Memphis and earned a Bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1975. After graduation, he worked as a chemist at Velsicol for several years, and then enrolled in the dental program at University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1983.
Lenny began his dental career by working in several offices before opening his own practice. In 1986, he opened his dental office in Germantown, Tennessee, where he dedicated the next 30 years to providing personalized care to his patients. Lenny was known for his warm demeanor, compassion, and gifting small wooden crossed to his patients as a gesture of comfort and faith. His commitment to his work extended far beyond office hours; his personal cell phone number was always available to patients in need.
Lenny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and friendships. Lenny enjoyed traveling to National Parks, photography, biking and music. He played the guitar, mandolin , and violin and enjoyed bluegrass music. Lenny was a longtime member of Hope Presbyterian Church, where he served on the Stephen Ministry and will be remembered for his love of God and faith.
Lenny is preceded in death by his parents and his son Chaelson Andre. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy: his daughter Stephanie Mosley; his son in law Cameron Mosley; his grandchildren Hannah Andre Andrew Mosley, Ash Mosley; and his siblings Rick Andre, Milton Andre, and Anne Owen.
The family as that donations be given in honor of Leonard Andre to Hope Church Samaritan Fund or St. Patrick's Church "Our Big Background" Fund in Collierville.
