Marvin H. Bing

Marvin Henry Bing, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi passed away at home on July 30, 2011. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Jean Bing; by two sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Linda Bing of Moscow, Tennessee and David and Dana Bing of Bentonville, Arkansas; by 5 grandchildren and a grandson-in-law: Andrea and Drew Womack, Stephen Bing, Timothy Bing, Chandler Bing, and Mckenzie Bing; by 4 great-grandchildren: Reese and Hank Womack, Audrey Bing, and Isabel Bing; and by a sister and 2 brothers: Shirley Bing, Billy Bing and Ricky Bing. He is predeceased by one son: Lewis Bing.

For nearly two decades, Marvin and Jean were the proprietors of Holiday Lodge Restaurant on Sardis Lake, Mississippi. He was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow where he was a former Music Director and most recently, after his retirement from the restaurant business, Assistant Music Director.

In addition to his dedication to his faith and the Church, Marvin was the consummate family man and a true friend. He and Jean enjoyed spending their retirement visiting with old friends and developing new relationships. Most of all, Marvin loved being with his family, particularly his grandchildren and, more recently, his great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Oak Grove Road in Moscow on Sunday, July 31st from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be had at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1st, also at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
