She was a lifelong Baptist and lived by example in her Christian faith. She graduated from high school and worked as an electrician on airplanes during World War II at the Memphis Airport. She later worked for Allen Blind and Awning for many years as a secretary. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading her bible, knitting, sewing, cooking and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband H.W. Stark; her son L.E. Comeaux II; and grandson Todd Comeaux.
Mary is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Comeaux (Margaret) of Memphis, TN, Don Comeaux (Patti) of Kailua, HI; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Katherine Peterson, Clayton, NC, Edna York Hoffman (Arnie) of Hernando, MS; two step-sons Mike Stark (Andrea) of AR, Randy Stark; grandchildren, Christy Comeaux of Memphis, TN, Kekoa Comeaux of Victory, NY, Mark Comeaux (Darla) of Oliver Springs, TN, Robert Comeaux, Tim Comeaux of Halls, TN, Melissa York Durham (Bennie) of Hernando, MS, Kim York Ellis (Bert) of Port Orchard, WA, Jerry Peterson (Natalie) of Clayton, NC; fifteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday March 11, 2020 from 12pm-1pm at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Ave., Collierville, TN 38017. Graveside service will follow at 2pm at Cordova Presbyterian Cemetery, 1071 N Sanga Rd, Cordova, TN 38018.
