

She leaves behind her son, David Neal Kidd, and his wife, Karla Jo Kidd; Her grandchildren, Hannah Mackenzie (Kidd) Abdo and her husband Hunter, Brooke Marie (Windham) Schlicht and husband David, Brentley Chase Windham and his wife, Lyndsey; Her great grandchildren, Landon Windham, Mia Grace Windham, Colt Windham, and Annie Mae Abdo.
Myrtle (or Elleanor her family and many friends knew her) was the fifth child of six born to Homer Buchanan and Myrtle (Huddleston) Buchanan. She was born, lived and went to school in Ripley, Mississippi. She leaves behind her sister-in-law his sister, Sylvia Jolet (Kidd) Orman and brother-in-law, Alvin Lavern Orman, her brother-in-law, Herman Chestine (Chuck) Kidd, Nephews, Michael Orman, Brent Buchanan and Nieces, Linda Kaye Buchanan, Lori (Orman) Fairchild, TK Buchanan, Kristy Pannell, Shelli Moore and their spouses and children.
Elleanor and George (GW) were high school sweethearts. Elleanor's mother told them that Elleanor had to finish high school and be 18 years old before they could marry, so Elleanor graduated on GW's birthday, April 18, 1958, her birthday was May 26, and they were married June 21, 1958. They spent many happy days and years together. They were members of the Methodist Church and attended both Germantown and Collierville Methodist Churches during their 60 years in Tennessee. After moving to Florida, to be near their son, they attended CrossPoint Methodist Church in Crestview, Florida.
She began her career at Southbell Telephone, continue on to AJ Watkins as secretary, moved to executive assistant at Butler Corporation, then took position at Digital Equipment Corporation where she retired after 20 years, and worked until 2008 at Alpha Owens Corning (AOC) where she retired permanently.
Elleanor and GW loved to travel and after their retirement they traveled with both Germantown and Collierville senior groups, visiting many places and countries. Elleanor and GW never met a stranger and were the 'example' couple many wanted to emulate.
She will be greatly missed by family and many friends. But Jesus Christ loved her more and she is now resting in him.
Visitation will be held on April 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville, Tennessee 38017.
A funeral service will be held on April 26 at 2:00 pm at Collierville Funeral Home, immediately followed by committal service at Antioch Cemetery in Ripley, Mississippi.
