

Loving husband, father, “Pepaw”, Christian and friend to so many. He died at his home in Collierville, TN peacefully at 5:45p.m. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of the late Ida and John Fahey.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 26 years, four children Bobby Fahey of Baton Rouge, LA, Penny Fahey of Picayune ,MS, Susan Desmond of Mandeville LA, Greg Fahey of Orlando, FL, along with 3 step children Scherida Hunsucker of Collierville, TN, Scharmin Aldridge of Collierville, TN and Schvonne Hollaway of Olive Branch, MS and was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Fahey. He has 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in the early 50’s. He was a aircraft mechanic and later used those skills in his civilian occupation. He was a die-hard Braves fan and was the past president of the Umpires’ Association and also a former Little League Manager. He was an active member of Central Church in the Life’s Potential Sunday School Class where he served as Vice-President.
Services will be held at Central Church of Collierville, 2005 E. Winchester Road on August 19, 2014, 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Road, Memphis, TN. 38125, immediately following services.
In place of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
a non-profit organization providing hope and assisting children and young
adults with cancer and their families.
