Sharon Lane Hackney went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Sharon was born in Paris, Texas on November 29, 1940 to parents Willie P. and Lallie Lane. She graduated from Quanah High School. Sharon married Hugh Hackney on December 4, 1959. Sharon worked many years for the Lubbock Independent School District and served in the nursery ministry at Bacon Heights Baptist Church. She later moved to Gun Barrel City where she worked for the Mabank School District and volunteered in the nursery ministry at Mabank Baptist Church. Later in life, Sharon relocated to Tennessee to be closer to her daughter Sherri Crawford. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and visiting Graceland, reading, antiquing, and going on fishing trips with Hugh.
Sharon’s husband Hugh, parents Willie P. and Lallie, and siblings Viola Garchie, Galen Lane, Joe Lane, and Willie Lane predeceased her. She leaves behind her daughter Sherri and her husband John, granddaughter Courtney Brandon and her husband Drew, grandson Jason Crawford, and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Brandon.
