

William Dansby “Dan” Haltom, 92 of Collierville, passed from this life Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the V. A. Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Haltom was born December 15, 1920 in Dockery, MS to W. S. and Ellen Hornsby Haltom. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII and was married in 1946 to Eola Hill Haltom who died in 1985. Dan was owner and operator of Haltom’s Grocery and a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where he taught a men’s bible class. He is survived by two daughters, Patsy Lenderman and Ann Singleton; four grandchildren, Carol and Dee Lenderman, Ellen and Steve Singleton; two great-grandchildren, Ty and Blaine Lenderman. Along with his wife he is preceded in death by a grandchild, Terry Lenderman. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24th beginning at 1 PM. A service celebrating Dan’s life will follow at 2:30 PM all in the T. Carl Rutledge Memorial Chapel of Collierville Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Collierville First Baptist Church.
