
Alan Trost, formerly of the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, died after a long illness, at his home in North Wildwood, NJ. Born to the late Dolores and Joseph Trost, Alan was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School.
Alan was involved in many businesses, starting with a hotdog cart in high school. His endeavors lead to owning a corner delicatessen, operating Character’s Café in Philadelphia and Donovan’s Reef in West Wildwood with various trusted partners and friends. Alan owned the Caribbean Breeze motel, and the Caribbean Cab Company. Alan operated a game of Chance on the Wildwood boardwalk and Mike and Ike’s Ice House. He also had a part-time career as a Disc Jockey, under the name of Chip Starr.
Alan is survived by his brother Raymond (Ann), stepson Andrew ; nieces and nephews, Carol (Charles), Raymond (Shannon), Brian (Christina), Christopher (Megan) and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited a viewing on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM. The internment will be private at the family’s request.
