

Carmela “Millie” Gentile, age 91 of Haddon Township, New Jersey passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 15, 2021, at her home.
Carmela was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 08, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Angeline (Cristinzio) Cianfrani.
Carmela had worked as a Student Loan Coordinator at 1st Peoples Bank of New Jersey in Haddon Township, NJ for 25 years until retiring.
Carmela was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Parrish (Saint Vincent Pallotti) located in Haddon Township , NJ for over 50 years. She participated in many Church sponsored events, but her favorite was the annual Christmas Bazaar and attending dances with her friends.
Carmela was active in the community having served as a poll worker for Camden County Democrat Club for over 20 years. Carmela also organized other like-minded women in her community in providing small crotchet hats and gloves for the Neonatal Intensive Care Units of Cooper and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitals.
We have been so blessed with the presence of Carmela in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her children: Anthony F. Gentile Jr. and his wife Terri of Washington Township, NJ, The late Robert L. Gentile of Williamstown, NJ, Christopher J. Gentile and his wife Barbara of Wellington, FL, Carmel Castagna and her late husband Carmen of New Ringgold, PA.
She was a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Christina, Stephen, Courtney, Andrew, Angeline, Michaela, Robert, Nicolette and her four great grandchildren: Grayson, Rosalie Mae, Giana, and Atlas.
She is also survived by her sister Anna (Cianfrani) DiGiacomo and her late husband Dominic of Brigantine, NJ, her brother Anthony Cianfrani and his late wife Rosemary of Norristown, PA. She is also preceded in death by her sister Jean (Cianfrani) Bonatucci and her husband Nicholas of Aston, PA
One of the saddest days in her life was when her son Robert passed away after a long battle with cancer. Mom took comfort in knowing he was at peace at the time of his passing and that she was alone with him. Afterwards, Mom would say “I was there for his first and last breaths”
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Blake-Doyle Funeral Home located at 226 W. Collins Ave Collingswood, NJ 08108. Another visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at Saint Joseph Worker Parrish located at 901 Hopkins Road Haddon Township , NJ 08033
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday November 22, 2021, at Saint Joseph the Worker Parrish (Saint Vincent Pallotti) located in Haddon Township, NJ.
Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ immediately following mass.
