

Bud was born on May 3, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to Herbert G., Sr. and Ada Miller (née Malone). He graduated from Rutherford High School in 1959. He played several sports, having lettered in Varsity Football, and played trumpet in the band. Bud was known for “Contributing the Most to RHS 1959” by his classmates.
Bud earned a football scholarship to Syracuse University, where he attended for one year before being accepted to West Point in New York. He was a 1966 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. His education was followed by a decorated Military Service, where he served as an officer in the Vietnam War.
After completing his military service, Bud entered a successful career in banking and finance. He rounded out his career as a Compliance Officer, retiring from Lincoln Financial in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Bud’s favorite activities included vacations with his family, sports, fishing, and gardening. But above all, Bud had a passion and talent for music. Not a day would pass without him singing or humming a tune. Bud was an active member of his church choir, and a lifetime Barbershop member. He most recently sang with the Pine Barons Chorus of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Bud was a devout husband and best friend to his loving wife Joan, spanning a wonderful marriage of 60 years. Bud was also a devoted father, mentor and friend to his three children, Kevin, Matthew and Heather. He was also a very proud grandfather of five, and great- grandfather of five.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield, 20 Kings Highway E., Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
