Jorge Marcelo Hamarman was born in Quito, Ecuador on November 24, 1972. He and his sister, Sandra Jacqueline, were adopted and raised by their loving parents Henry and Nina Hamarman. Jorge is preceded in death by his father, Henry.
Jorge was raised in Northeast Philadelphia and earned his BFA in Silversmith Jewelry Making in 1995 from Tyler School of Art. He was an avid crafter, reader, and consumer of pop culture. Known to all for his kindness, humor and sarcasm, he believed strongly in “showing up” for friends and family in times of celebration and sorrow. Most of all, he was an extraordinarily loving and devoted father, husband, brother, son and friend.
Jorge met his wife, Amelia (Amy) at summer camp at the age of nine. Together they had twin daughters, Liliana (Lily) and Elizabeth (Izzy) who will miss their father dearly.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Amelia (Amy), daughters Lily and Izzy, mother Nina, sister Sandra Jacqueline, nieces Mia, Rachel, Mica and Sonya (Paul) and nephew Boaz, and siblings-in-law Kate and Donald (Linda) and an exceptional community of friends and family.
Donations can be made in his memory to Camp Dark Waters, Medford New Jersey or the American Cancer Society.
