

Kathryn "Kathy" L. DeGrasse, born on November 20, 1947, in Westmont, New Jersey, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 78. A resident of Tequesta, Florida, Kathryn was a woman of rare grace, known for her faithful, humorous, loyal, generous, and inspirational spirit. She was devoted, kind-hearted, compassionate, resilient, thoughtful, wise, spirited, God-fearing, gentle, loving, and strong.
Kathryn attended Haddon Heights High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in New Jersey. She cherished her role as a homemaker and loved being home with her seven children. As a Navy spouse, she lived in various states, including New Jersey, Connecticut, Arizona, Alabama, California, and Florida.
Kathryn was married to Albert (Chip) DeGrasse IV for 54 years. They met as children in New Jersey and shared a life full of love and devotion. Kathryn is survived by her four children: Todd (Jade) DeGrasse, Alaina (Joe) DeGrasse-Parker, Lynsey (Matt) Weber, and Ryan, "the baby" (Brandy) DeGrasse. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sister Marlene, and sister-in-law Penny. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Chip) DeGrasse IV, her three sons Brett, Quinn, and an infant son, her parents William R. and Kathryn Rodgers, her brother Jack, and her sister Janet.
An avid reader, Kathryn enjoyed painting, playing the piano, singing, and participating in the hand-bell choir. She loved walking and talking, sharing her wisdom and humor with those around her.
Kathryn was deeply involved in her community, serving on the prayer committee and steering team at her church. She taught Sunday and Vacation Bible School at Chews United Methodist Church and was part of the ministry outreach program, visiting elderly folks in nursing homes.
Her obedience in her walk with the Lord and her devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and great-grandmother left a lasting legacy. She is now a new citizen of heaven and surely has heard the words from our Lord, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."
