Marie Lyons Dewane

Age 91 of Westmont

Passed away at home May 19, 2016. Marie/Mom/Nana leaves behind eight children and 9 grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.

Marie was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School, Class of 1943. Marie worked for RCA in Camden and New York City prior to becoming a full time Mother. She wed William A. Dewane in 1947, raised eight children and travelled the world with him, living for 8 years in Sao Paulo, Brasil. As a mother she was a full-time work from home woman. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and drew on it to guide her family.

Marie is survived by her children William (Bill) Dewane (Claudia) of Camp Hill, PA, Kathleen (Kay) Baggs (Jon) of Haddon Township, NJ, Mary Dewane of West Burke, VT, Terence (Terry) Dewane (Amie), of San Anselmo, Ca, Beth Dewane of Tabernacle, NJ, Thomas (Tom) Dewane of Colorado Springs, Co, Michael (Mike) Dewane of Bokeelia, Fl, and Suzanne (Sue) Smith (Steve) of Tabernacle, NJ. Her grandchildren are Mollie and Magdalena (Maggie) Dewane, William (Will), Alden and Galen Baggs, Morgan and Stephen Smith, Allison (Ali) Bailin, and Ramona Dewane. She will also be missed terribly by her many loving cousins, the Kernan family of Westmont, NJ.

Vewing at BLAKE-DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 226 W. Collings Ave, Collingswood on Tuesday evening, 6-8 PM. Funeral & Viewing on Wednesday, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 11 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Haddon Township, Rev. Msgr. Andrew Martin celebrant.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Township, NJ 08033.
