

Adam Young Winter, Jr., 24, died unexpectedly on December 6, 2015 at his home in Denver. He was born in Kansas City, MO on June 16, 1991 to Melissa (Bell) Winter and Adam Y. Winter, Sr. Adam’s siblings are two younger sisters, Sarah, of Boulder, CO and Mary, of Denver. His grandparents are Dorothy and Roger Bell of Ottawa, Kansas and Nancy M. Winter, Olathe, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Graham Winter Stingley, Monument CO and his grandfather, Winton A. Winter, Sr., Ottawa, KS.
After three years living in Taos, NM, the family moved to Colorado Springs in 1995 where Adam graduated from Air Academy High School in 2010. He graduated In May, 2015 from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a near perfect GPA and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the national academic honor society. Adam’s plans included a career as a physician and, at his death, he was employed by Carepoint P.C. as a Medical Scribe in the ER of two hospitals in Denver. He was a voracious reader, had great taste in music, film and literature and was thriving within a strong base of close friends and family.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, at 1:30 pm at the Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church at 601 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs. The Winters are hosting a reception at The Mining Exchange Hotel at 8 S. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, following the service.
