Our beloved father, Albert (Al) E. Stock, age 92, passed away quickly and quietly in his home on August 11, 2016 comforted by his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Noelle. We know he has finally rejoined the love of his life, wife of 57 years and our dear mother Nancy (Nan) Louis (Meyer) Stock (deceased 2004). We were all so proud to call him Dad and always thought he was bigger than life. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 10/29/1923 to Albert Frank and Rose Elizabeth (Rohm) Stock, he had four siblings Melvin and Paul (deceased), Richard, and Betty (Brendemuehl). He and Mom stayed busy after he graduated medical school having the five of us: Albert E. (Ned) Stock Jr. (Janet), Incline Village, NV; Mark A. Stock, Montrose, CO; Chris J. Stock (Barbara), Denver, CO; Matthew L. Stock (Noelle), Colorado Springs, CO, and Andrea J. Rogers, Mosier, OR. His family legacy will continue through his eight grandchildren: Nathan Stock, Lindsey Stock, Kevin Stock, Rose Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Scott Hahn, and Erin Hahn as well as two great-grandchildren Reagan Stock and Avery Posey. In his big life, he was high school valedictorian in Milwaukee, met our mother at DePauw University, proudly graduated from Saint Louis University Medical School while serving in the Navy and completed his medical training as chief resident at St. Louis City Hospital. He then served in the Army stationed at Fort Carson, CO, was a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and started private medical practice in Colorado Springs in 1955 at the Central Colorado Springs Medical Center. He also served as a consultant to the medical community in the San Luis Valley, then later practiced at the Air Force Academy Hospital until he finally retired after more than 50 years of medical practice. He loved to ski and taught most of us by hiking us and our gear up the Gun Barrel run at Monarch. He was a pilot and loved taking us on flights with him. He loved the outdoors and shared this passion by participating in all kinds of outdoor activities with us. Dad, now that you are with Mom, we know that you two will pick up your golf, tennis, and bridge games again. We love you and will miss you very much! We are not planning a service, but would love to hear from friends and family. Please share your thoughts and condolences with us.
