Anna Isabel Keehne, 93, died May 23, 2026 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born October 22, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, Anna was a woman of steady grace—marked by compassion, quiet resilience, and a thoughtful patience that shaped the lives of those around her. She resided for the last 12 years in Knoxville, where she moved to be closer with family.
Anna was a graduate of Towson State University in Maryland, and carried a lifelong devotion to learning into the work she loved most: caring for and teaching children. For 20 years, she taught kindergarten at Broadmoor Elementary School, where her faithful commitment and gentle steadiness helped young students feel safe, seen, and encouraged.
Beyond the classroom, Anna gave her time as a volunteer docent at Rock Ledge Ranch in the Garden of the Gods, sharing history with the same care and attentiveness that defined so much of her life. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, remaining loyal to the people and places that mattered most to her.
Anna was passionate about child education and found joy in the everyday rhythms of home and community. An avid reader and quilter, she also loved hosting and entertaining—welcoming others with warmth, consideration, and an unhurried presence. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where her faith was lived out in steadfast, practical ways.
Anna was married to Harry L. Keehne (LTC, Retired U.S. Army), who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children: Michael L. Keehne (Maureen), James R. Keehne (Janey), Jeffrey S. Keehne, and Susan K. Carr (Neal); as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Her devotion to family, her loyalty to lifelong friendships, and her patient, loving care will be remembered with deep gratitude.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the ICU Staff at Tenova Hospital at Turkey Creek in Knoxville, TN. Much gratitude is extended to life long friends in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
