It is with great sadness that the family of Annie T Cook announces her passing at the age of 94, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Annie was also known by many as Mom, Granny, T, and Nixie, and will be sadly missed. Annie was born in Barbados on November 8, 1928, and passed away on August 15, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edsel F. Cook her eldest son Kenneth Cook and her beloved Yorkie Dean. She is survived by her remaining five children Beryl Love (James), DeBorah McCallup, Gregory Cook, Michael Cook (Theresa), and Saundra Cook and stepsiblings Pat Latham and Ulysses Register, and numerous Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, and Great-great-grandchildren.
Not only was she a beautiful soul and a beloved member of the family, but she also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community for over 55 years. Annie was an avid gardener with a green thumb, who loved Bingo and going to the Casino. Annie loved with all her heart and was a giver to those in need and we are all so grateful for the way we were raised. She put her foot down when needed to be sure we knew right from wrong and taught us to accept responsibility for the decisions we made. One of the things she would say is, “God gave you two ears and one mouth so you can listen more and talk less.” A huge hole has been left in our family and another link in the chain is missing, however – the chain will link again.
Funeral services for Annie will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, Co 80910.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialgardensfuneralhome.com for the Cook family.
