Austin Burl Crain

Austin Burl Crain, at the age of 93, was called home to be with his Lord on Monday 11/8/2021 in Springfield, MO. He was the widower of Gene O'Rourke. They shared many happy years together exploring archeology and common hobbies.

Born in Kim, CO he was the son of Oscar and Kate Crain. He graduated from Kim High School. Along with his love for farming and ranching, he prided himself in many years of excavating basements and foundations throughout Colorado Springs, for various companies.

He belonged to Bradley Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed many things such as: ranching, rodeos, geology, the Colorado Mountains, hunting, fishing, and repurposing discarded machines into something new. He will be remembered for loving: family, the game of 42, storytelling, drinking Folgers Columbian Coffee and sharing his homemade cinnamon raisin bread.

He is survived by his children, Tom, Susan, and Sonya, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Larry, his partner Gene, as well as many family members.

The funeral service with interment will be held on November 19, 2021 at 1pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Bradley Road Baptist Church.
