Avra was born on April 19th and grew up in Greece. She met and married the love of her life, Demosthenes, and they had four children. They eventually moved to the United States, and Avra went to college--majoring in French and German. The family enjoyed traveling every summer in their station wagon exploring their new country. She loved sharing the details of these summer adventures with her friends, but she never forgot her country of origin and lovingly recounted her memories of Greece. She instilled this love of both cultures, and the world with her family.
Avra is survived by her four daughters, Martha, Kleoniki, Maria, and Penelope and thirteen grandchildren. She loved gardening, decorating, and socializing with friends and family. She had a deep love for nature and animals. She loved helping others and often volunteered and supported many charities. Avra's love of country was only surpassed by her love of her faith and church.
In Avra's memory, because of herlove of the Church, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, to please consider contributing to the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church Capital Campaign Fund. Viewing will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017, Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Paseo Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80907
