Barbara Pittsinger

Barbara Jeanne (Gallagher) Pittsinger was born on October 7th 1945 in Denver, Colorado to Robert and Mildred Beatrice Gallagher. She went to be with the Lord July 30th 2011 in Lakewood, Colorado.

Barbara graduated from Abraham Lincoln High school in 1963. She attended the University of Colorado on a music scholarship. On March 21, 1970 she married Donnie Pittsinger, her husband of 41 years.

Barb loved her cocker spaniels, gardening and making fleece blankets. When she was able, she enjoyed traveling and going to Estes Park to listen to the elk and watch the moose, which she loved. Barb was like a mother to many in her family, not just a sister or an aunt.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Donnie Pittsinger of Lakewood; mother, Bea (Gallagher) Schlote of Loveland, CO. Barb is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Gallagher-Gibbs (Gary) of Greeley, CO and Debbie Hofland (Steve) of Helena, Mt; nieces and nephews, Robert Gallagher-Gibbs, Shalyn Becker, Chris Hofland, Candice Hofland and B’Linda Hofland; great nieces, Monique and Alexandra Becker; great nephew, Eben Hofland; aunts, Josephine Reed, Murial Devereaux, and Margaret Totten; uncle, Lynn Toten and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Gallagher; sister, Gwen Guernsey and a step father, William Schlote.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 5, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
