Bobby was born January 18, 1935, in Como, Hopkins County, Texas to Aubrey Sewell and Dorothy Summers Sewell. Bobby was the second of the 4 Sewell brothers: Dalton, Richard, and Michael Sewell. Growing up in East Texas, they loved to be outdoors in the country, hunting, fishing, shooting targets.
He moved to the city of Grand Prairie, Texas, to join his older brother working at the Chrysler Boat Company as a riveter. At the company summer picnic in 1958, Bobby met Sheran Owens (the “pretty” sister-in-law of his co-worker Bob Phillips). They were married on March 3, 1961 at his brother Dalton Sewell’s house. Bobby & Sheran moved to Lewisville, Texas, where they raised their children Shannon June and Raven. After 25 years with Chrysler, Bobby also worked 5 years as a delivery driver for the Container Store and 14 years as a truck driver for the Texas Highway Department. His favorite hobby was fishing and driving around nearby Lewisville Lake.
When his 3 grandkids Karyn, Sam, and.Scott came along, Bobby regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Lewisville with Sheran, sharing a pew with the grandkids. He enjoyed watching their ball games and music concerts. When Shannon June’s family moved to England as mission workers with OC International, Bobby got his first passport at age 74, so he and Sheran could travel to England! In 2019, Bobby and Sheran moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where they attended Vista Grande Baptist Church and enjoyed the beautiful views of Pikes Peak, Cheyenne Mountain, Garden of the Gods, neighborhood parks, and much more.
