CD “David” Miller died unexpectedly in his home on July 20, 2017. He was a beloved and loving husband, daddy, son, big brother, grandpa, uncle and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife Casey (Wentink) Miller, and their children Michael Miller, Bryan Miller, Jared Miller, Jasmine Sanudo, Cassidy Miller, and Cameron Miller, and three grandchildren and one on the way; his parents Phil Miller and Judie (Schirado) Miller, two brothers Jaymz (Robyn) Miller and Chris (Denita) Miller, and his sister Karina (Robert) Pyle and several nieces and nephews.
CD was born in Clovis, NM on April 18, 1971. His life journey led him to Topeka, KS for 10 years and landed him in Colorado Springs in 2003. CD was a skilled plumber and HVAC technician. He used those skills to provide for his family and to minister to others. CD worked for the Air Force Academy and more recently at Fort Carson as an HVAC technician. He also had his own business (Hero Service and Repair).
CD was an incredibly caring and loving man. He was known for his larger than life personality, his gift of welcoming and sharing, and his big hugs and hands always willing to offer help. CD was fun, spontaneous, devoted to his family, and on fire for God even in his darkest times.
CD struggled with addiction that was characterized by a roller coaster of precious recovery and devastating relapse, his entire adult life. He had a heart for ministering to others that led many to their own recovery and relationship with God. Addiction is a battle that cannot be fought alone and although CD knew this to be true, he ultimately lost his life in this war. He was active in Celebrate Recovery and celebrated 6 months sobriety just days before his last relapse on July, 20. His family shares CD’s story in hopes that even one person can know the importance of staying connected to their recovery and reaching out for help no matter how insignificant their struggles might seem.
CD’s family and friends take comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering but resting in the arms of the savior he loved so much.
