Charles David Key went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2019 at age 94. He was born to Otis Beale Key and Emma Belle Hurt Key on February 8, 1925 in Henry County, Tennessee. He served in the Army during WWII then moved to Colorado Springs where he met his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Eva Richardson Key. She preceded him in death. To them were born two daughters, Mary Nell Key Morton and Eva Charlene Key Smith.
Charles was an auto body painter for Perkins Motor Company for 25 years while at the same time faithfully serving the Lord and the members of his church, Shiloh Chapel, for over 60 years. He is survived by both his daughters, four grandchildren: Erica Smith, Chas Morton, Elizabeth Coffel (Tim), Erinn Smith, six great grandchildren, his siblings Alice Ward (Elmer), John Key (Georgia), Martha Ramey (Tom), and Jane Benton (Art). Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Key and Phil Key in addition to his canine companion, P.B.
Mr. Key’s celebration of life will be September 25, 2019 at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 North Cascade Avenue. Committal will be at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
