Christina Fawn DeGrant

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Christina (Chris) Fawn DeGrant of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Chris passed away on March 16, 2026 in Colorado Springs, she was 72. Chris was born on October 1, 1953 in Pocatello, Idaho to Elizabeth Alder and Loyal Alder. Chris grew up on the eastern plains of Colorado helping to raise her siblings before moving to Pueblo to attend college. Chris retired as the Director of Events for the Space Foundation located in Colorado Springs. Chris was a certified meeting planner and a member of the Christian Meeting Planners Association. She loved working at the Space Foundation, cherishing the many friendships she made there and at the Broadmoor hotel.

Chris and Mike enjoyed 40 years of marriage. She loved summers, enjoying family time, camping, boating and water skiing. Chris was an avid hiker and would average over 5 miles a day on trails while enjoying the outdoors with her pup Niko. She was proud of her treasured garden year after year. She would proudly share her harvest with friends and family using the harvest throughout the year to cook family meals.

Chris loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed teaching them to cook, bake, gardening and sewing. You could always catch Chris with a book in her hand. In the recent years she kept track of the number of books she read, averaging 70 a year.

Chris was proceeded in death by her mother Elizabeth Alder, father Loyal Alder, sister Cindy Anderson, bothers Charles Randell (Randy) Powell, Russell Alder, Freddie Powell, and nephew Russell Packard.

Chris is survived by her husband, Mike DeGrant, daughters Breanna DeGrant of Denver, Lisa Stanley of Colorado Springs, Jennifer House of Wisconsin, granddaughters Leandrea Standley and Lynnea Standley of Colorado Springs, brother Tom Powell of Idaho and Sister Sherree Jones of Kansas.

Everyone that knew her was a better person because of her impact. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Chris wants to be remembered as being a kind person.
