Chris Howe, age 63, was a lifelong resident of Colorado, with a brief stay in New Hampshire, retiring as a Senior Satellite Systems Engineer after working at several local Aerospace and Technology companies including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, DEC, Intel, and MCI after his years of service in the United State Air Force. He was an E5 Staff Sergeant as a Computer System Security Officer (CSSO) and System Manager for USAF Granite Sentry Program and previously repaired and maintained radar equipment on USAF assets. He also piloted and maintained USAF B-52 Weapon Systems Trainer and analog KC10 simulator.
Chris studied Computer Science at Regis University, and he previously graduated from William J. Palmer High School, where he was on the track team and played in the marching band. This is where his love of trail running, and music took root. Chris ran nearly every available regional 5K and has the t-shirts to prove it! His great joy was his rose gold trombone and getting a chance to play with the Colorado Springs Contemporary Jazz Band.
Chris and his daughter Katie loved playing practical jokes on one another. And of course there were “Dad jokes”. Chris and his son Jeff were adventure buddies who went to Spring Training and a stay in Las Vegas. And Ann , his wife, loved him deeply and dearly. She knows he was the better half of the equation. Love you most.
Chris is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ann Marie (Theresa) Howe (nee Sawicki); son: Jeffery Steve Howe, daughter: Katherine Diane Howe. He was preceded in death by our daughter Jennifer Elise Howe, Mother: Muriel Mae Howe (nee Swenson), Father: Royal Calvin Howe.
Christopher had the biggest, kindest heart. Ironic that it was what failed him in the end. He was a good and loving husband. Loving and attentive father. He loved music , reading, running, sports, high performance cars and a good scotch. I am sure he is getting to know our daughter who undoubtedly greeted him in heaven. I am sure he went for a long run for a personal best, probably up Pike's Peak. I am sure my father greeted him with open arms, as he was always fond of him in life. I am sure he got to see his parents unencumbered by their earthly ailments.

Reading:
So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
- Chief Tecumseh
