Colin was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated from Wasson HS in 2002. He was the oldest sibling, with a surviving younger brother, Caleb Kenyon (& wife Ashley), and sisters, Courtney Johnson (& husband Joshua), Evelyn Aman (& husband Alex), and Olivia Gillum. He is survived by mother, Denise Gilllum (Don Bedford), and father, Steve Kenyon (& wife Jan). He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. All of his family loved him and are deeply saddened by our sudden loss. He will be missed more than words can say.
Colin worked many different types of jobs throughout the years. He was very skilled in the construction and automotive fields. Starting at the age of 18, he was a manager at Peerless Tires for several years in Greeley, CO. He also did concrete work with his father Steve. He then worked several years in the apartment maintenance field. He could generally fix almost any problem and was a wiz in troubleshooting. He was an electrician for the last 11 years and had a RW (Residential Wire Man) license and helped to train several young apprentices along the way. He wanted to get his Journeyman license and had started doing more side-jobs with intentions of starting his own business in the future. He was a very hard-working man and a good provider for his family.
Colin loved the outdoors and would often go fishing and camping all over Colorado. It even became a tradition that on their anniversary, the couple would go backpacking miles into the national forest for several nights. He was happiest up in the mountains and would go many times a year with various friends and family. One of the things he enjoyed most about these trips was teaching all the children survival skills. He did refuse to hunt because he had such a big heart, he couldn't bear to hurt another living creature, right down to even the fish he caught.
Colin enjoyed playing Disc Golf around Colorado Springs, CO especially in the company of his brother Caleb and his cousin Luke. Another one of his favorite hobbies was firearms and target shooting. He was extremely fond of fireworks, making the 4th of July his favorite holiday. He loved to relax by watching football and eating any food that was spicy. Sriracha was always his go to sauce for everything. He also really enjoyed cooking for groups of people on his flat top grill. Philly cheese-steaks were one of his specialties he made for family on camping trips.
The loss of Colin will continue to be felt by all of his family and friends for a very long time as he touched so many people with his knowledge, kindness and his sense of humor. He was a shining light and the world is a little darker now without him. The family wishes to send their sincere appreciation to everyone for all of the support and the love that has surrounded them in this difficult time. In Lieu of flowers, if you would like to make any type of monetary donation, it will be applied to help provide for his children's future.
