Daniel P. Gregor Jr., known affectionately as Avan DeBar, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of "26", after a 2 year battle with colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver. Born on June 29, 1969, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Daniel fully embraced the Gregor nature of love, compassion and making everyone you meet a friend.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held at the Pikes Peak Metropolitan Community Church on Sunday, September 22nd, at 2:00 PM. The service is open to all who knew and loved him, reflecting his open-hearted nature and the broad impact he had on his community. Food and beverage to follow after.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Daniel’s memory can be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or the American Cancer Society. Those of you who knew Dan know he deeply loved animals and never liked to see any animals suffer.
Daniel will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
