

Darrell was born in Marcus, Iowa to Theodore R. and Elsie Chiles Webb. He was raised and attended school in Cherokee, Iowa. He served in the United States Army for 2 years which brought him to Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is here where he met his wife, Joanne Ebeling Webb. He was a student at Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa where he received his B.A. in religion, and a minor in Education. He and his family then moved to Greeley, Colorado where he completed his Masters of Education at Colorado State College. He began his teaching career in Fairplay, Colorado where he taught junior high and high school for 6 months. Moving on to Colorado Springs School District 11 in 1960, he taught Industrial Arts, was a junior high school counselor, and completed his career as a junior high school administrator.
Darrell was involved in the Soap Box Derby with the Jay Cees, a Boy Scouts leader, and volunteered at the Boys Club. Upon his retirement from education, he formed a construction company, building houses with his sons, where his skilled work can still be found around the city. After retiring from construction, he could be found working on classic cars, gardening and landscaping, piecing together puzzles and traveling Route 66 destinations.
Darrell was an active member and Elder in the Community of Christ Church. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Webb, two sons, Tim Webb and Tom Webb (Jenna), three daughters Elaine Foster (Mark), Nancy Sherman and Pam Cordova (John). Darrell had 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Elsie Tigges (Carroll) and Donna Groepper (Rodney) both of Cherokee, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews. This amazing man will be truly missed by the many people his life has touched over the years. Memorial contributions can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
