Dave W. Gissel, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend left this earth March 13, 2019 while skiing at Copper Mountain in Summit County, CO. He was born on May 3, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA to Charles W. and Annette L. Gissel. In 1974, Dave graduated from Lower Moreland High School in Philadelphia.
Dave graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1979 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Hewlett-Packard Colorado Springs recruited him and he began working there in 1980. There he met Donna Burton and they married in 1989. They both loved to travel but also enjoyed activities that Colorado has to offer. He especially loved skiing, mountain biking and hiking. Dave was also a lover of music, outdoor concerts and Colorado microbreweries. After retiring in 2015, he was able to devote more time to these activities with family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Charles W. Gissel and brother Carl Gissel.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna Gissel, mother Annette Gissel, sister Karen Bloomster, and her sons, Joseph Rosselli (Erica and Jade, his grandniece) and James Bloomster. He will also be missed by his inlaws; mother, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 3-20-2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial Service is scheduled for Thursday, 3-21-2019, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Swan-Law.
