With heavy hearts, the family of Dennis Richard Phair announces his passing on November 22, 2024. Born on August 7, 1946, in Colorado, Dennis was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, and cherished friend to many.
Dennis is survived by his two sons, Bryan and Branden; his three granddaughters, Tiffeny, Kimberly, and Savannah; his great-grandchildren, Melanie, Caiden, and Axel; and his siblings, Ronnie, Linda, and Cary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Audrey Phair, and his beloved wife, Cheri.
A true Renaissance man, Dennis lived a life full of diverse experiences and passions. Drafted while attending UCCS, he served with honor in the United States Air Force, stationed in Pakistan and Greece during the Vietnam War. After marrying childhood friend Cheri, he became a father and pursued a wide-ranging career, which included roles in landscaping, funeral directing, car sales, security, and marketing.
Outside of his professional life, Dennis was a man of many hobbies and talents. He had a deep love for nature, particularly through fishing, where he enjoyed gathering the family for fish fries. He also relished hunting with his bow and arrow, spending time at the shooting range, and engaging in various hands-on projects. An inventor at heart, Dennis expressed his creativity through painting, poetry, sculpting, and woodworking - always striving to create something beautiful with his hands.
Dennis will be remembered for his unique ornery sense of humor and his ability to find joy in the simplest of moments. He was known for always taking the scenic route in life, a deep sense that all good things took time and savoring a pancake on the side at breakfast.
A service in his honor will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on December 5th at 12:00 PM.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caretakers at Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, Penrose Hospice, the Chapel of Memories, and the staff at Pikes Peak National Cemetery for their compassionate care and support during this time.
In his memory, we celebrate the richness of Dennis’s life - a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ChapelofMemoriesfh.com for the Phair family.
