

Dennis William Wansor passed away on June 23, 2024. Born on November 13, 1942, in Glen Cove, New York, to William and Anna Wansor. On March 20, 1965, he married Joy Gannotti at St. Boniface in Sea Cliff, New York. The couple resided in Glen Cove until 2000, when they relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and in 2010, they began splitting their time between Colorado Springs and Gulfport, Florida.
Dennis graduated from Glen Cove High School on Long Island, New York, and built a career as a Foreman at the Long Island Lighting Company. He was also a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Hook & Ladder Company with the Glen Cove Fire Department. Dennis cherished his time with family and friends across Colorado, New York, and Florida, always eager to lend a helping hand. His love for his family’s dogs and his granddaughter’s horses, and his passion for history were well-known.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Joy, father William, mother Anna, sisters Beatrice, Mary Rant, and brother Thomas. Dennis leaves behind his daughter Lynn Wentland, son Dennis Wansor, and daughter Karen Polito (Thomas); grandchildren Alexandra and Cassidy Wentland, and Tyler, Chloe, and Chase Polito; nephews Ricky Rant (Kathy), Donald Rant, Bobby Rant (Tracy), Thomas Wansor; and nieces Wendy Wansor and Susan Madden (Jerry).
Interment will take place on Friday, July 5, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life is planned for July 27 on Long Island.
